On February 26th, 2024, Monkey Bay Wildlife Sanctuary (MBWS) was granted $39,000 by the Belize Nature Conservation Foundation (BNCF) to implement the project “Sustaining the Integrity of the Monkey Bay National Park through Improved Resource Management”. Main objectives of this project are to expand the capacity of the MBWS Protected Areas program through acquisition of additional human resources, training for field staff, procurement of equipment, and development of a blueprint that will support the construction of a Conservation Outpost in the Monkey Bay National Park.

This project will be instrumental in supporting and expanding upon all the hard work carried out by our PA program staff to date. On behalf of MBWS’s Board of Directors and Staff, we take this opportunity to express our gratitude to the BNCF for their support on this project.
